Microneedling With Mesotherapy

What is Mesotherapy?

For skin Mesotherapy, we use an electric skin needling device made especially for this purpose. It is a medical device used to break down old scar tissue and to stimulate skin cells to proliferate. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers as well as in new capillaries for an improved blood supply. A solution is then used to deliver nourishing substances to the layers of the skin.

What Conditions can be Treated or Improved with Mesotherapy?

• Mild to moderate acne scarring (new or old scars)
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Loose and lax skin
• Skin texture and pore size
• Stretch marks

How Does Mesotherapy Work?

Topical numbing cream is applied and we wait for it to take effect. The device slides along the skin, penetrating the upper layers of the skin to a depth of up to two millimeters in order to create numerous tiny needle wounds. This procedure causes the body to respond by forming new collagen and elastin fibers. In response to this stimulus, the skin plumps and thickens, which results in reduction of the appearance of scars, and fine lines and wrinkles.
A Mesotherapy solution then delivers nourishing substances to the layers of the skin where cell repair and growth occurs. Vitamins, amino-acids, minerals, hyaluronic acid, all essential components for healthy skin cells, can be delivered by Mesotherapy.

This treatment helps improve dull, tired looking, dry, lifeless skin, and superficial wrinkles. All micro-needling includes mesotherapy free of charge. Per area the treatment is just $300 at Ageless Medi Aesthetics.

Laser Hair Removal—Everything You Want to Know

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a laser to remove unwanted hair.

A laser is simply an intense pulsating beam creating heat.

How does it work?

Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair follicles with the laser. A laser beam is directed on the treatment area, such as leg hair, upper lip hair, back hair, etc. The laser beam inhibits hair in the first stage of hair growth from growing in the future.

Laser hair removal targets the source of hair growth

Image of how a laser works on the hair follicle by Laser Plus Clinic Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

The procedure is repeated over time through multiple visits because the laser needs to be applied to the hair follicle when it is on the first stage of hair growth (known as anagen). This is the only stage of hair growth that takes the treatment effectively. Every 4 – 6 weeks, people have about 10%-15% of hair in first-stage of hair growth. For this reason, we space treatments about 4 – 6 weeks apart. This also means you can expect roughly 10%-15% reduction in hair after each treatment.

Each person’s biology and hair growth is unique. Some people need more treatments and others require less treatments.

Why is laser hair removal done?

The main aim of laser hair removal is to get rid of unwanted hair.

Some of the most common treatment locations include:

  • the upper lip
  • cheeks
  • chin
  • back
  • chest
  • legs
  • underarms
  • bikini line
  • brazillian
  • arms
  • even hair on your big toes

It’s possible to get rid of hair just about anywhere with this procedure. (Some people ask about eyebrow shaping but lasers are dangerous to eyes so we do not treat areas close to the eye.)

Laser hair removal is chosen by men and women who want more long-term hair removal results. Laser hair removal is also chosen by people who dislike shaving with razors because skin irritation, cutting and infection risks etc. Many people simply don’t want to shave or want to shave less frequently.

Side effects

All hair removal has side effects. For example, shaving can lead to skin infections, ingrown hairs which sometimes require surgery to remove, skin irritation and more.

Laser hair removal however a very easy procedure often without significant side-effects. In some people, it is possible to feel temporary discomfort, redness or slight swelling after treatment. These are however very mild and short-term side effects. Some people could experience slight pigment changes on the treatment area. For instance, your treatment area may become slightly darker or lighter.

Your technician can discuss pigment changes with you during consultation but one cause of pigment changes are if someone suntans a few days before or after treatment. This is why we recommend wearing sunscreen and not tanning around your treatment time.

Other possible side effects, which are also rare, are blistering, scarring and crusting. There could be other reasons and that is why we always consult with you before treatment. For example, someone could be on a medication that could make them photo-sensitive. We need to know that and we ask about these types of things during consult.

Who is it for?

Today, the laser hair removal treatment is available to you regardless of your skin colour, thanks to technological advancements. It is important to note that laser hair removal does not treat blonde, red, or grey hair because there is no pigment in the hair.

We recommend waiting until after puberty is complete for laser hair removal, so closer to 18, depending on the individual. If your teenager has hair growth that is causing distress, please book a consultation to discuss treatments.

Procedure overview: How it’s done

Laser hair removal is a very simple procedure that involves passing a laser hair removal wand from the Elōs Syneron Diode Laser over the treatment area.  There is some preparation that is recommended before your treatment session.

Preparation before treatment

Treatment begins with a scheduled consultation with certified technician, Lindsay Winters. The consultation allows you to ask questions about the treatment, set expectations, and we are able to ask questions about you to make sure your treatment matches you.

It is a time to educate, discuss treatment plans and to get pictures to be used for assessment of the final results as well as conducting long-term reviews.

During consultation, you will be informed on the dos and don’ts. Some include:

Avoid plucking your hair because when you pluck hair, you are removing it from the hair follicle.

Avoid bleaching leading up to your treatment because bleaching irritates your skin.

Avoid tanning atleast a few days before and after your treatment.  Wear your sunblock and/or protective clothing before and after treatment.

During treatment

During treatment, we require that you wear appropriate eye protection (which we provide) to protect your eyes from laser beams.

Ultra-sonic gel is applied to the treatment area to ease the gliding of the Elōs Syneron hand-piece. The laser hand-piece is then placed over the treatment area and light pulses are emitted. The treatment is fairly quick for small areas like the chin or upper lip (it can take a few minutes). Larger areas like the legs, or a man’s beard, require approximately an hour.

During consultation, your technician will give you after-care guidelines to follow. Sun protection and gentle skin care are recommended.

You will also be required to avoid irritating skincare products i.e. those with alcohol, glycolic acid etc. as well as excessive skin rubbing and/or scrubbing.

What to expect

Laser hair removal results vary from one person to another depending on factors such as: types of skin/hair as well as the area being treated.

The treatment is effective for most people in the long-term especially when it is done by a specialist with the best laser hair removal machines available today. You may however be required to get multiple treatments i.e. 6-8 treatments spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart for you to be able to get rid of hair 90-100% of your hair for good. Every person is unique so there can be variations in treatment success. This can go either way. Some people require less treatments than regular and others might need more.

In a nutshell, laser hair removal is the fastest, safest and most effective hair removal treatment available today. Treatment from trained specialists, who have the best hair removal equipment like the Elōs Syneron Diode Laser , will give you the best results.

Fibroblast Plasma Skin Tightening

Plasma Pro Skin Tightening is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma to eliminate excess skin. Low risk, minimal downtime and more affordable then surgery. Plasma Pro Skin Tightening is known for it’s success with Non Surgical Eye lift, Skin Tag Removal, Deep Wrinkle Reset, Neck and Jaw Tightening, Tummy Tightening, Stretch Marks and so much more.

The term “Soft Surgery” is used to describe the treatment because it delivers results similar to surgery, with no scalpel, stitches or bandages and minimal downtime.  A minimally invasive procedure with much lower risk and at a more affordable price then actual surgery.

The Plasma Skin Tightening method has many advantages over cosmetic surgery, which makes it an increasingly popular treatment.  There is no cutting of the skin, which means that there are no stitches required, and clients can return to work much sooner.

Plasma Skin Tightening is a relatively new innovation in the beauty industry in North America but has been used for a number of years in Europe. The extremely accurate device works by utilizing the voltage in the air between its tip and the skin, to form a plasma charge. An electrical arc is created and instantly shrinks the targeted skin.  The tissue retraction and tightening gives results that are comparable to invasive surgery.

Plasma Pro Skin Tightening is able to treat a number of imperfections without any actual cutting of the skin. It can be used for:

  • Eyelid reconstruction, including resolving baggy lower eyelids and excess upper eyelid skin.
  • Skin imperfections and benign lesions, including skin tags and sunspots
  • Improvement in the appearance of scarring, including post-surgery scars, acne scars
  • Diminishing Stretch marks.
  • Tightening loose stomach skin after pregnancy.
  • Lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
  • Facelift and necklift.
  • Arm Lift
  • Knee Lift
  • Tattoo Removal

As Plasma Skin Tightening is more than a simple tightening treatment, skin is actually removed, so the effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery.  Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of plasma treatment are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further aging. But, the positive results should last you years depending on the area treated.  The positive effects of treatment can be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the best results will be seen after 6 weeks. For some, additional treatments may be required after 4 weeks for maximum results.  Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the result from lasting as long as they can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and prolonged sun exposure.

The number of treatments required will vary according to the condition being treated, skin’s laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Most clients see results instantly and this continues to improve over the course of the following 2-6 weeks. Further treatments can be carried out to get better results, although it is uncommon to require more than three treatments. Appointments must be spaced out 4-6 weeks.

Plasma Skin Tightening has been shown to be a safe treatment due to its non-invasive nature. Still the majority of clients are likely to experience some minor side effects in the 7-10 days following treatment.
There will be some tiny brown marks that have the appearance of minor scabbing, which are carbon crusts, but in 5-7 days on average these will flake away, revealing new pink skin beneath. Some swelling will be seen (especially in cases of eyelid treatment), but it is likely to only last 3-5 days at most.  Swelling in the eye area is to be expected for a few days following an upper eyelid treatment. To avoid any more serious side effects such as hyperpigmentation, follow the aftercare recommendations given to you by your technician.

As with the majority of cosmetic procedures, Plasma  Skin Tightening should not be used on women who are pregnant or breast feeding. Although some darker skin types are suitable for the soft surgery procedure, it is not advised for those with very dark skin. This is because there is a higher risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) following treatment, particularly if the carbon crusts are disrupted by scratching, scrubbing or picking.

On the treatment day, it is recommended that no make-up is worn on the treatment area. We suggest taking an anti-histamine (such as benadryl) 30 minutes prior to your appointment to help with swelling and continue to take anti-histamines for 2-3 days following your appointment.

A numbing agent is applied and left to take effect for up to 30 minutes. When the treatment area is sufficiently numb, the session begins with multiple connections of the plasma tip, spaced closely together. You may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable and slightly irritating. Treatment time is usually between 10-40 minutes, depending on the size of the area.
Immediately after treatment the area will be red and mildly swollen with small crustations and discoloration.  You may experience a sensation similar to a sun burn which will likely last a few hours.  Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and more so when eyes are treated and may last 2-5 days. The crustations/discoloration should resolve within 5 -12 days depending on the individual and area treated. Results often are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 6 weeks.  Essentially there is downtime, but it is considerably less then with surgery.

Following treatment you will be given thorough aftercare instructions to ensure that you see the best results. In the week following treatment (or until the treatment area has fully healed) an exfoliating wash or cleanser should not be used. Instead opt for a pH balanced soap (cetaphil), and avoid rubbing the area.
The majority of people are safe to drive following their Plasma Skin Tightening procedure, but if the treatment area is around the eye, it is advised to avoid driving, due to potential irritation or swelling.

Plasma Skin Tightening is certainly more affordable than cosmetic surgery and the prices of treatment depends on the area treated. When comparing a treatment to the cost of traditional, open surgery, it is about 50 – 75% less. For exact pricing look in the “Clinical Aesthetics Tab” at the top of the page.

  • Clients should be in good health at the time of the appointment, with no preexisting health conditions. If the client displays signs of cold or flu the treatment should be rescheduled.
  • Clients skin should not be inflamed in the area we are treating prior to procedure.
  • Clients prone to keloid scars are not ideal candidates.
  • Clients with diabetes, healing disorders or lymphatic draining issues should not undergo treatment.
  • Clients with a sunburn/sun tan should postpone treatment.
  • Clients who have a history of Hyperpigmentation are not ideal candidates.
  • The area to be treated should not have undergone any previous medical treatment on the area within the past 18 months (not including botox)
  • Clients must not display any tanning at the time of the treatment.
  • Clients must not display Herpes Simplex Virus (Cold sores/Fever blisters). You will need to reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing an outbreak.  If you have experienced Herpes Simplex Virus (Cold sores/Fever blisters) in the past you must see your Medical Doctor and obtain a prescription for Valtrex and begin taking it 3 days before treatment and for 4 days following treatment. (This applies for treatments surrounding the lip area only)
  • Not for clients with pace makers.
  • Not for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • This treatment is only recommended on light-medium skin tones . Anyone with darker complexions is at risk for Hyperpigmentation.

What is Saline Tattoo Removal?

When preformed with saline, tattoo removal leaves no scaring. And can remove ALL colors.

Unwanted ink or pigment will be brought to the skin’s surface. A slight scab will form  over the procedure site. This will eventually naturally slough off taking the unwanted pigment with it. Multiple treatments may be necessary (2 to 8). If full removal is not possible, the lightened tattoo can be camouflaged with micro-pigmentation.

Progression of 8 sessions

The specially formulated saline is implanted over your existing permanent makeup or small tattoo. It contains finely milled sea salt, purified water, and aloe. You will not find any carcinogens or other products used in the saline formulation that other saline products contain or that have FDA warnings. Implanting the solution into the skin breaks up the healed pigment, and begins to lift the pigment out of the skin by osmosis.

The pigment is slowly pulled to the surface of the skin and heals into a scab. When the scab falls off, that pigment falls off with it, leaving a lightened tattoo.

So… how is this different than laser?

Laser tattoo removal works by an entirely different mechanism. A laser is just an intense beam of monochromatic light. When we see color, we are really seeing certain wavelengths of light bouncing off the surface of an object. The rest of the wavelengths are absorbed by the object. So, each color of your tattoo will need to be targeted with the correct wavelength of laser to penetrate and break up that particular color of pigment. Over time, your body’s immune system will absorb the pigment and you will see the lightened tattoo.

Primary differences between laser and saline tattoo removal:

1. With laser, all of the removed tattoo ink is absorbed into the body. With saline removal, most of the tattoo ink is lifted up through the surface of the skin. (If you’re not sure of the quality of the ink used for your tattoo, this can be an important distinction.)

2. Each laser tattoo removal machine only emits certain wavelengths of light. Saline removal is color-agnostic. This means that certain machines can only break up certain colors of ink. Newer machines are more likely to work on the widest range of colors. The beautiful thing about saline removal is that it works on all colors of pigment.

3. Laser tattoo removal cannot target white ink (included in many saturated, light colors of tattoo ink and permanent makeup pigments.) Again, saline is color-agnostic.

4. Laser is often more expensive than saline removal. Laser can run you $250-$500 per session. If you are undergoing sessions by a laser machine that cannot target all of the colors used in your tattoo, there may be certain colors that won’t go away! While saline with us starts at just $199+

What Is Collagen Induction Therapy AKA Medical Microneedling?

It is often described as a lunch hour treatment as you won’t leave bruised or excessively swollen as with other treatments with similar results. Please note though that you will need to avoid makeup for 24hours post treatment. It is suitable for all skin types, has long-term effect, good portability and a minimal contraindications.

What is Collagen Induction Therapy?

It is known that collagen and elastin keep our skin firm and elastic, but with age, acne, sun damage etc. these structures can start to break down leaving us with less then desirable skin tone, texture, scars and sagging. By the time we are 35 we will have lost half the collagen (the ‘scaffolding’ of the skin) in our skin and elastin (which gives our skin its elasticity), and quite simply Micro Needling stimulates collagen and elastin production.  It is the controlled stimulation of the skin’s ability to self-repair.  The thousands of micro ‘channels’ created in the skin, not only trigger new collagen production but also allow any products applied to penetrate deep into the skin and heal the skin further.  “The production of new collagen continues for up to 12 month after the procedure.”

The skin should be prepared. Usage of vitamins and antioxidants strengthens the protective properties of skin. Depending on the characteristics of skin, exfoliation might be needed.

The area to be treated is anesthetized for 30 minutes before microneedling.

The microneedling pen glides across the treatment areas in several directions. Tiny needles create micro channels in the skin, stimulating skin’s natural ability to produce collagen and elastin. The small channels close very quickly and the skin begins a healing process. The procedure lasts up to 20 minutes.

Natural serums, *(Hyaluronic Acid+ Vitamin C) are applied immediately after Micro-Needling, as the channels the needles have made in the skin also allows the products to enter far deeper into the skin than they would without the skin needling being done first.  This will significantly aid the success of the treatment as the skin’s ability to soak up nutrients increases by whooping 3000% for an hour after the treatment!!

For dramatic visible results Collagen Induction Therapy can be combined with other treatments for facial rejuvenation. The number of procedures depends on the individual skin condition. With 1-4 needed on average depending on concern treated and individual desired results.

Microneedling is a tolerable procedure. The punctured epidermis heals really quick. However, erythema (swelling) may be seen after treatment. No other side effects have been reported.

The skin passes three stages of healing after Microneedling:

  1. Inflammation after the treatment. At this stage the skin becomes red.
  2. Inflammatory response. This stage is characterized by stimulation of tissue growth.
  3. Tissue formation. (up to 1 year)

Some weeks after Microneedling is performed, there is a need to use products that contain vitamins A and C for wound-healing effect and stimulating collagen synthesis. Any topical serums, ointments and moisturizers that you apply in the week post treatment will have a greater affect then usual as they are able to further penetrate into the skin.

Swelling and redness usually are invisible on the second day. ‘
The skin will look and feel dry for days 2-5 so and a gentle enzyme exfoliation can be used.

Benefits of Medical- Micro Needling

  1. Cost effective–less than laser treatments

  2. Refines pores
  3. Stimulates Tissue Regeneration
  4. Fades Scars and Stretchmarks
  5. Skin is thickened, tightened and elasticity is restored

Cosmetic tattooing is back and better than ever! Unlike the old school permanent makeup of the ’80s and ’90s, the latest trends are not as harsh and obvious-looking. This is thanks to micro sized needles and natural color based inks that don’t fade into funky colors. You’ve probably already heard of microblading, but what about those other brow options? How do you know which one is right for you?

All permanent brow techniques are designed to make it easier for you to get ready in the morning. You won’t have to “guess” where to draw your brows or have to worry about your makeup melting off or someone seeing you without your brows on. But all brow are not created equal. You should choose one based on your skin type and preferences. Read on to find out more about the pros and cons of each service.

Pros: Makes brows look thicker, fuller, darker, and more defined. This option if you want your brows to look natural when you don’t have makeup on but they’re easy to fill in if you want a more made up look. It only lasts up to 2 years, so you don’t have to worry about being stuck with the same brow shape for the rest of your life. Fades without turning blue, red, green, or purple.

Cons: This will fade fast on oilier skin types

Pigment is inserted into the skin with a needle on an electrical machine (NOT a tattoo gun) and the brows are filled in with color, similar to the look of filling in your brows with brow powder

Pros: Ideal for those with very oily skin and those who like a more made up look and don’t want to have to fill in their brows at all.

Cons: Your brows will look “made up” even when you’re not wearing makeup. Since the color is uniform throughout the brow, it can look more “flat” and less natural than the other options. Doing the POWDER OMBRE (a combination of hairstrokes and powder brows will help it look more natural).

This is a trendy look, made popular by makeup artists on Instagram, where the brow is powder filled then nano hair strokes are added on top for the most naturally thick option availbale. A combination of hairstrokes and powder brows.

Pros:  Ideal for those who like a more made-up brow look or those who have a good amount of hair on the inner corners but missing the tail end of their natural brows. The microblading in the front just makes the brows look more natural.

Cons: Can be more expensive since it’s a two-in-one procedure.

Looks similar to microblading but done with a fine needle on the electrical machine. Meaning these will not fade in 2 years. They should last 5-8 years.

Pros: Like microblading, the hairstrokes make this a more natural-looking option. It will last longer on oilier skin than microblading.

Cons: Can take a bit longer as the needle is the smallest used for any technique thus taking longer for the artist to create your full desired affect.

Ready For Visibly Denser Hair?

What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

If you want natural  looking results that relieve the frustrating effects of hair loss, Scalp Micropigmentation is the choice for you.

What is it?

This procedure is the ultimate in non-surgical male and female scalp and hairline reconstruction; an incredible life-changing treatment where natural looking pigments are applied in the epidermal level of the scalp to replicate the natural appearance of real hair follicles. Scalp Micropigmentation is suitable for all types and stages of hair-loss, on all ages, colours and skin types.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a highly advanced method of cosmetic pigmentation. While similar to traditional tattooing, Scalp Micropigmentation is also unique in a variety of ways. SMP involves the use of highly specialized equipment and techniques to inject pigment into the scalp. Scalp Micropigmentation is an extremely intricate procedure with a natural result.

How long does it last?

These procedures are considered permanent, however most will require some upkeep every few years as the pigments fade much quicker on the head than any where else on the body. Also if there is more hair loss these new areas will require work as well.

What to expect?

Usually 2-3 sessions are required to build the desired hair density.  Sessions are 2-4 weeks apart.  No aftercare lotions are needed, but you may experience a little bit of itchiness around the 3 or 4th day post procedure. Cetaphil shampoo and grapeseed oil are great items to get for your aftercare treatment.

Preparing for your appointment:

No alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to your appointment.

No over the counter blood thinners 24 hours prior to your appointment (ex, ibuprofen, ASA).

After your procedure

You can expect some redness that will dissipate within a few hours.

While there are many available options for treating hair loss, most are unreasonably expensive, unreliable, and add to your frustration instead of relieving it. Hair transplants often leave nasty scars and typically cost far more than the value you receive. Hair Clubs are also very expensive and can require literally a lifetime of returning and maintaining. Wigs are another option, but most men and women simply don’t feel comfortable with the potential embarrassment which can be caused by a displacement. Wigs also need continual maintenance, and the reality of it is this: wigs rarely do a convincing job of covering up hair loss.

What’s more is that this doesn’t just help people seeking that “freshly-shaved” look. This treatment can help anyone help with:

  • Adding Density
  • Male Pattern Baldness
  • Women’s hair loss
  • Repair bad treatments
  • Alopecia
  • Cover Scars

Scalp Micropigmentation Treatment Process

Treatment is typically completed across 2-3 sessions at 10-14 day intervals. Below, we’ll take you through the process step-by-step:

  1. Your initial consultation appointment is first. Consultations can be done in-person, over the phone, or over video chat via Skype, FaceTime, etc, in order to gain an understanding of what results you want to achieve from your treatment. I will guide you through the process and help you decide which style is best for you. We then create a plan of action, mapping out what is required to reach your goal and get the results you desire.
  2. Next, treatment begins. It’s best to be conservative on your first treatment in order to achieve the optimal end result. This initial session is to lay the foundation of your new look. After the first treatment, your scalp will be a little red, but within a single day this typically returns to normal.
  3. The second treatment allows us to fill in more detail and go a shade darker than your initial session. This session is where your treatment really comes to life, and your new look is perfected. Any concerns, questions or requests will be handled during this meeting.
  4. Occasionally, but not always, a third procedure may take place. Third treatments are typically done by the request of the client, if they would like to go even darker.

How it Works

When your ink in inserted into the affected area, the color is skillfully matched with your natural hair color with precision. Additionally, this color is a shade darker than your natural colour, which gives the illusion of a shadow and the appearance of three-dimensional, natural hair.

The treatment is administered softly, in a gentle approach, and results look unbelievably natural.

Each client’s needs are unique. During your consultation, we will talk to you about exactly what results you want to get, and ensure a custom procedure, designed to give you the desired effects that you’re looking for.

The Range of Scalp Micropigmentation Options

There are a variety of options/styles available. We have outlined some of the most popular below:

Soft Hairline and Widowed Peak

Many people want their current hairline lowered, replenishing where it has receded over time, and giving the appearance of fuller hair and a clean hairline. We follow the natural hairline by layering the impressions, thus giving the realistic appearance of hair with no hard line. We make sure to match the ink color perfectly to that of the client, resulting in an incredibly effective and strikingly natural result.

Adding Density to Thinning Hair

adding density to hair with smp
Men and women of all ages have found Scalp Micropigmentation as their solution to cover or fill in thinning hair. Thinning can result in a wide, undesirable scalp area showing through the hair. Typically, the person will have an even coverage across the scalp, but the density drops as the hair loss progresses. Scalp Micropigmentation replaces the lost density, resulting in the appearance of an even, full head of hair.

With this focused and specialized approach, we treat the front hairline and let it blur into density with a natural look. The initial treatment is gentle and soft, increasing density throughout the rest of the thinning hair. We also create a three-dimensional effect, giving the appearance of a natural shadow. This technique is a great choice for you if you have had a hair transplant but didn’t end up with the desired density.

Scalp Micropigmentation Treatments for Women

Many women suffer from hair loss and thinning hair. Dealing with thinning hair can be devastating to a woman making this the ideal treatment. Many women need color added to their scalp to cover natural separations made from long hair. If you can see scalp, we cover this up to allow for it to look healthy and full. Scalp Micropigmentation is perfect if you are a woman who is thinning on the top or across the crown section of your head.

Scalp Micropigmentation for Hair Transplant Patients

If you have had a hair transplant, you may have been left with scars as a result of this procedure. The technique used is a highly advanced style of Scalp Micropigmentation which doesn’t just cover the scars, but also gives the appearance of a fuller head of hair by adding density to existing hair, or creating the look of a shaved head; depending on the client.
scar coverup for fue scar
Scalp Micropigmentation is the perfect solution for the effective concealment of FUT strip scars, FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) scars, scalp reduction scars, and Historic Plug or Cobblestone scars from old-fashioned hair restoration procedures.

Most hair transplants are not as effective as Scalp Micropigmentation due to the sheer lack of donor hair. People are often left with only two choices: They can continue having multiple hair restoration treatments that leave patients with more scars and cost even more money, or proceed with Scalp Micropigmentation, which provides guaranteed results and little-to-no ongoing maintenance – Seems like a pretty easy choice, right?

(Clients experience redness immediately following treatment, from anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours, depending on their skin type.)

Why People Choose Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp Micropigmentation will give you a look of a full head of hair, just after a fresh – close cut hair style. No one will notice that it is an ink treatment, you can return to work the day after your procedure and people will think you look great, but they will have no idea that you underwent treatment. The look of our Scalp Micropigmentation is so real that no person or camera will ever pick up on your secret.

There are a wide range of reasons you may be looking into Scalp Micropigmentation as your hair loss solution. We have treated thousands of clients, each with differing reasons and causes of hair loss. Whatever the reason, Scalp Micropigmentation is your best option.

Unlimited Density

With regular hair transplant procedures, particularly FUE, most hair-density will be lost within the first few months, so it can often take up to a year to get the best results out of those procedures.

With the Scalp Micropigmentation technique, density will be added, and the desired results start to appear immediately after treatment commences.

Ongoing Maintenance

The length at which your hair can be kept after the completion of both procedures is entirely dependent on your individual hairstyle. With the combined approach, you can have more density and fullness without the need to shave.

After reading about everything that goes into micropigmentation, from the different ways treatment can help to the way treatment works, our average client with male pattern baldness falls within a pricing range of $1100 to $2000. (A simple scar cover-up may be less, and severe forms of hair loss may be more.) Of course, pricing for this kind of treatment isn’t going to be a one-size-fits-all kind of deal. Instead, there are a number of factors that will help us determine exactly how much your treatment is going to cost you:

  • Treatment Area: whether you’re facing male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness, alopecia, or complete baldness, the total amount of area we have to cover will be a large factor in your pricing. If the human head has an average of 100,000 hair follicles, how many follicles do we have to replicate?
  • Skin Type: If you have particularly dry or sensitive skin, additional considerations will have to be made by our team in how to treat you without hurting your skin. If you have lots of scar tissue or thick skin, we might need more treatments than someone without those things.
  • Scarring: scar tissue takes a special kind of attention. If you have light scarring, then everything may proceed as normal, but if there is a lot of scarring or they are dark or thick, then there are a number of options to choose from on how to realistically hide that tissue.
  • Hair Density and Style: This will determine many things, from the colors we have to use to the number of follicles we have to replicate to the actual style of micropigmentation treatment you want to go with.

The most reliable way for us to give you a pricing amount is to come in person for a consultation, but if you send us a few pictures of yourself along with a description, we can get back to you in one to two days with a quote. I will travel for SMP clients between BC and AB.

Wondering If Lash Extensions Are Worth It?

Many women are eyelash follically challenged. Have you ever wished that you could have eyelashes that looked fuller and downright gorgeous without making you look like raccoon eyes an hour later? Well, look no more… Eyelash extensions to the rescue! Eyelash extensions have become extremely popular over the last few years with many women using them as an integral part of their beauty regime. They are not permanent and will eventually come off, but they can give you the look you want without having to add mascara and false eyelashes every day.

How do I know what type of lash extension would look good on me?

Eyelash extensions today look so real you or anyone else would find it almost impossible to tell the difference.  Eyelash extensions can be made from human hair or can be synthetic hair but they are made to feel and behave just like your real lashes. You can get long or short and different colors.  Lash extensions are an investment but considering the look they offer they are well worth it. They can be perfect for summertime when you are in and out of the pool and for weddings. If you have never tried them before they can be just what you want to make your eyes stand out.

Even though the lashes are not real, how long will they last you ask?

Depending on the individual and the experience of the esthetician doing the procedure, eyelash extensions can last as long as you want them to with proper care and maintenance! Fills are needed every 2-3 weeks on average as our natural lashes are continually shedding and new ones sprouting!  However, factors such as eyelash growth, lifestyle and general aftercare (no oil based makeup worn around the eye are, don’t put them directly in the shower stream etc.) will affect how long the lashes last.  Again, depending on the expertise of the esthetician, it will take around 1-2 hours to complete the application depending how many lashes are being applied and whether you are getting a full set or a refill.  The average person might have anywhere from thirty to eighty lashes per eye applied.

If you want to see what your most dramatic and sexy eyes look like lets get you set up!
